Security Ratings

What is Sold Secure? Who is ART? What do all these symbols mean? Why should I care?

In Europe, independent testing agencies put locks through their paces to see how secure they really are, or not. These results are given to the insurance companies to incorporate into their policy fees. Having an approval from the appropriate agency, in each country, can give lock owners a big break on their policies. It also tells everyone, thieves included, that these locks have earned the right to secure your bike so it's there for your next journey.

Kryptonite is proud to hold more than 70 approvals at Sold Secure (UK), ART (NL), VdS (DE), N.F. (FRA), Classe SRA (FRA) and SSF (Sweden). These products were attacked with every bit of malice the testers could throw at them and they still held up and they are the locks we use on our own bikes and vehicles!
