Snowsports

  1. We'd all like to think we are safe on the slopes, but we suggest that you never, never leave your gear unattended. Not even if you are just running in for a hot cocoa.
  2. Always lock your gear, even when it is on the top of your car rack.
  3. Don't rely on separating your skis on the racks. Most thieves grab quickly and don't notice that the skis don't match until much later.
  4. To lock your skis, run a Kryptonite locking cable through the brakes on the bindings and loop around a rack or fixed pole.
  5. For snowboards run a Kryptonite locking cable through the heel piece of the top snowboard binding and loop around a rack or fixed pole.
  6. For gear, be sure to loop the Kryptonite cable around a fixed object and then through a permanent, fixed part on the equipment like the ski board binding bail, ski bag zipper tag etc.
  7. Always remember to give your lock a final check to make sure that it is properly closed and secured before leaving your gear for that warm hot cocoa.
